Аннотация
В статье впервые в отечественной историографии предпринята попытка изучения различных подходов к датировке, авторству и структуре одного из важнейших источников поздней античности – «Origo gentis Romanae», а также его места среди языческой позднеримской литературы. Именно через раскрытие этих вопросов можно вплотную подойти к рассмотрению «Origo gentis Romanae» как самостоятельного и отдельного произведения, а не только как части корпуса текстов, приписываемых Сексту Аврелию Виктору, на чем во многом настаивает зарубежная историография.
