Аннотация
В статье обсуждается известняковая женская статуэтка с луком и колчаном за спиной из Британского музея, найденная при раскопках храма Аполлона в Идалионе (Кипр) в 1873 г. Исследователи атрибутируют ее как Беренику II в образе Артемиды. Однако основным мотивом в культе царицы являлось, прежде всего, материнство и покровительство семье, что не соотносится с образом богини-девственницы Артемиды. На данный момент статуэтку можно считать единственным сохранившимся свидетельством отождествления Береники II с Артемидой. Следовательно, либо на Кипре существовал уникальный вариант почитания птолемеевской царицы, нуждающийся в интерпретации, либо статуэтка на самом деле изображает не Беренику II.
