Аннотация
В статье рассматриваются особенности образов служивших Дарию III греческих военачальников в сочинении Квинта Курция Руфа «История Александра Великого Македонского». Определяется, что в отдельных случаях римский писатель относительно точно транслировал материал более ранних источников, которым было присуще противопоставление компетентных и верных греческих командиров завистливым и коварным персидским вельможам, не способным дать отпор Александру. В наибольшей степени эти установки повлияли на представленную в сочинении оценку деятельности Мемнона Родосского и на рассказ об участии фокидянина Патрона в событиях, предшествовавших свержению Дария. Тем не менее Курций Руф имел склонность преобразовывать сведения предшественников, заостряя внимание на проблеме негативного влияния удачи и неограниченной власти на человеческую личность. Следуя своему литературному замыслу, автор не только драматизировал повествование, но также изменял последовательность событий, подгонял сюжет под уже имевшиеся литературные образцы, приписывал поступки одних персоналий другим, самостоятельно определял мотивы персонажей и содержание их речей. Особенно выпукло эти тенденции проявились в эпизодах, рассказывающих о взаимодействии персидского царя с афинянином Харидемом и сыном Ментора Тимодом.
