Аннотация
Манефон Севеннитский – один из наиболее ярких представителей жречества эллинистического Египта. Хотя о нем сохранились некоторые сведения в античной традиции, крайне мало известно о его месте и роли в египетской жреческой корпорации, особенно о египетской составляющей его жизни, в частности, о египетском варианте его имени. Автор статьи анализирует деятельность жреца Манефона. Внутри жреческой корпорации выделяются три основные категории жречества по характеру их отношения к Птолемеям, царям новой чужеземной династии: 1) лица, не проявлявшие лояльности к ним, 2) лица, поддерживавшие царей, но не принимавшие активного участия в деятельности по легитимации власти новой династии и 3) лица, активно поддерживающие царей, инициируя формы их пропаганды. Автор относит Манефона к третьей категории жрецов: тот активно участвовал в мероприятиях по укреплению легитимности правящей династии, являлся одним из создателей культа Сараписа и в своем историческом труде Αἰγυπτιακά доказывал, что представители новой династии Птолемеев наделены сакральной царственностью. О конкретной деятельности Манефона в качестве египетского жреца сложно сказать что-то определенно. Автор полагает, что, вероятнее всего, Манефон был жрецом храмов в Севенните и Гелиополе.
