Abstract

This is a publication of the hoard of late Ptolemaic tetradrachms from the State Historical Museum of the Southern Urals, which is part of the numismatic collection of archaeologist Nikolai Minko (1880 – after 1920). The hoard was acquired by the archaeologist from antiquarians in St. Petersburg between 1899 (1901?) and 1903 and, along with other coins from his collection, was donated to the Chelyabinsk Museum of Local History by his wife M.A. Minko in 1923. The currently preserved part of the hoard includes 2 tetradrachms of Cleopatra III and Ptolemy IX (117/116–108/107 BC), 1 of Cleopatra III and Ptolemy X (107/106–102/101 BC), and 3 of Cleopatra VII (51–30 BC). The burial date is c. 38/37 BC.
