Abstract
The paper is the publication of the unique epigraphic source from the Trinity Macarius Monastery in Kalyazin, a white-stone tomb with the epitaph of the monk Levkiy, who was killed during the destruction of monastery by the detachment of Alexander-Josef Lisowsky. Based on the Forage book from this monastery, the author dates the seizure and the death of Levkiy to May 6, 1610. Levkiy was the Father Superior of the monastery in 1586–1608, but he lived alone in the end of his life. The author reconstructs the events leading to the ruin of the monastery. For the fi rst time he publishes an excerpt from the Synodikos of the Bogoyavlensky Convent (Theophany Convent, Kostroma), which listed the names of the defenders of the Kalyazin monastery, killed by the “lisovchiki”.
