Abstract
The authors publish a little hoard of the copper Bosporan coins from the 4th – 1st centuries BC found in 2014 in the outskirts of the settlement “Veselovka 5”. The site lies one km south-east of the modern village of Veselovka (Temryuk District, the Krasnodar Territory). The hoard contains 26 coins belonging to Panticapaeum (19) and Phanagoreia (7). It joins the group of several closely resembled copper hoards concealed during the reign of Mithradates VI Eupator. The latest issue in these hoards is the Panticapaeum type with a star/tripod dated from the beginning of the 1st century BC. The Veselovka Hoard was probably concealed on the eve of the I Mithradatic War (88‒85 BC). It is a precious evidence for the economic and political situation in the Bosporus in the early 1st century BC. It is also of great importance to certain the chronology of the Veselovka 5 Settlement and to reaffi rm the date of the settlement by the 4th – 1st centuries BC
