Abstract
The article discusses the concept of ҡайғы (grief) identified in the texts of the Bashkir folk songs. The concept of ҡайғы (grief) is considered not only as linguistic lexical unit, but also as a cultural code carrying encrypted information about the philosophical views of the people.
