Abstract
This article examines the cultural adaptation strategies of the Alexandrian Neoplatonic school under Ammonius Hermiae during the Christianization of the Eastern Empire. Comprehensive source analysis allows for reconstructing the mechanisms of compromise with church authorities, tracing the evolution of curricula, and identifying methods of preserving philosophical continuity. The analysis of Ammonius's agreement with Patriarch Peter Mongus, which became a turning point in late antique education history, occupies a central place in the research. The study demonstrates how Alexandrian philosophers developed a distinctive model of cultural synthesis that ensured the preservation of ancient wisdom in Christianized society.
