Abstract

The article provides a reconstruction of the recurrent genealogy of the consul and triumvir of the Roman Republic Mark Antony’s descendants. The genealogy is presented in the form of a genealogical list. It includes all known descendants of the triumvir during the 1st – 4th centuries AD by the ancient testimonies – the princeps of Rome (the Julio-Claudian and Severan dynasties), the highest Roman magistrates – representatives of the Roman nobility families of the Late Republic and the Principate (Antonii, Claudii Nero, Domitii Ahenobarbi, Galerii, Valerii Messallae, Cornelii Sullae, Rubellii, Octavii Laenasi, Junii, etc.), client rulers of the vassal and incorporated states into the Roman Empire of the Mediterranean Hellenistic and after-Hellenistic periods (Polemonid dynasty of the Pontus, Bosporus, Greater Armenia, Lesser Armenia, Olba (Cilicia Trachea), the Ptolemies of Egypt, Masinissid dynasty of Mauretania, Sapey dynasty of Thrace, Sampsiceramid dynasty of Emesa, Hairanid dynasty of Palmyra, family of Pythodoros). The research is based on the analysis of the ancient sources containing the prosopographical information. In particular, in addition to narrative material the epigraphic and numismatic sources (Latin and Greek inscriptions of the city of Rome, provinces of the Roman Empire, Eastern States; Roman and provincial coins) are highlighted. A study of this kind in the domestic investigations has been carried out for the first time.
