Abstract

The article presents a description and analysis of fl int items obtained during the archaeological study of the Late Bronze Age settlements of Tyumen-3 and Tyumen-7 in the North-Western Crimea. The fl int material from these settlements is compared with that from the Bronze Age settlements on the Tarkhankut Peninsula. A similar feature is the use of local raw material in the form of rounded fl int pebbles. The presence of combined implements may be explained by the lack of suitable raw materials. Quality fl int was rare and highly valued. Tools made of it in the fi nds from the settlements are single, they probably were used many times and performed diff erent functions. The predominant number of scrapers among tools is a common feature of the fl int material from the settlements Tyumen-3, Tyumen-7, Tarkhankut-18 and Tarkhankut-22.
