Abstract

The paper presents the results of a study of the stones used in the construction of the foundations of three large buildings on the acropolis of Phanagoria. As a result of the analysis and typologization, the main types and groups of rocks were identifi ed, the probable places of their provenance were determined, the hypothesis of long-term and large-scale supplies of building stone to Phanagoria in the 5th – 3rd centuries BC was substantiated.
