Abstract

In this article, the author gives the critical analysis of four new-published at 1998, 2000, 2015 curse inscriptions from Olbia, especially their textology and dating. Three items are engraved on the lead plates, one on ceramic sherd. The publishers have interpreted all them as curse inscriptions and have dated from the second half of the 4th century BC. The author suggests, that it is demanded to give a more precise text and dates of the inscriptions, he gives essentially new textology and dating. As the result inscription No. 3 isn’t the curse inscription, but healing phylactery for woman. The author has also argued more late dates of the inscriptions: No. 1 pertains to late 3rd ‒ 2nd century BC, No. 2 to 2nd – 1st centuries BC, Nos. 3-4 are of the 3rd century BC.
