Abstract

The article presents the results of archaeological and geophysical research of the ancient settlement of Kostyrino, located on the southern shore of Lake Tobechik on the Kerch Peninsula. On the top of the cape, at an altitude of 16.5 m, a square tower with dimensions of approximately 10 x 10 m revealed by magnetic survey. Four groups of large pits were discovered on the territory adjacent to the cape, which may indicate the existence of four estates, each with its own granary. While the ground structures were destroyed by plowing, and the stone of them was selected during the construction of the village of Kostyrino, the pits of the ancient manor complexes were well preserved. The area of the ancient settlement is at least 6–7 ha. Magnetic survey did not show the presence of any fortifi cations on the isthmus of the cape.
